Everyone needs soap. And here are 6 most important reasons why we think that soap bars deserve a more special place in our lives compared to shower gels:

  • Little or no Plastic Waste: Let’s face it, moving to soap bars from shower gel helps cut out on a lot of plastic. For every 250 ml of shower gel that you decide not to buy, you save 9 litres of water and 40 gms of plastic! That may seem too little in the beginning but considering we are 8 billion people on this planet, it amounts to a LOT! Most soap bars are packaged in paper or cardboard boxes which are both recyclable and break down in landfills unlike the plastic bottles of shower gels. Only about 9 percent of all plastic bottles generated get recycled and the rest just sit in the landfill for years and pollute our environment.
  • No need for Plastic Loofahs: More often than not people use fancy plastic loofahs to lather up their shower gels. These loofahs while being made of plastic themselves, leak tiny particles of plastic (micro plastics) into the drain which eventually goes into our oceans. Through the ocean, micro plastics find a way to our food plates and I am sure no one wants to eat plastics.
  • Chemicals vs natural ingredients: Shower gels essentially contain water and chemicals while soap bars such as our Happy Earth Vegan Soap bars contain glycerin, coconut oil and olive oil to provide deep cleaning and moisturizing to your skin.
  • Travel Friendly: Soap bars are more travel friendly as compared to shower gels. They take up less space and do not create liquid messes due to air pressure issues while flying. The best thing is that once your soap bar is finished, there is no plastic waste that needs to be tossed.
  • Takes Less space and Creates a lesser Carbon footprint: Shower gels take up a lot more shelf space in stores and leave a larger carbon footprint in being transported from one location to another as compared to soap bars.
  • No danger of over use: Shower gel users often complain of spilling or squeezing out more gel than required. This leads to overuse and wastage which is not the case with a soap bar. And with Cuddlecare’s Organic Cotton Soap Saver Bag, now it’s possible to use up even the smallest bits of soap.

We feel that after all these years, the soap bar is still a winner. Let’s raise the bar for what’s acceptable and sustainable for us and our coming generations. Do we really need any more reasons to choose the change?
